Gary H. Boxer, M.D.
Dr. Gary H. Boxer graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1980.
He did his internship and residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He returned to Colorado completing his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship in 1985. Dr. Boxer's first position after graduation was with National Jewish Hospital in Denver. Dr. Boxer staffed an inpatient psychosomatic unit working with children who had severe asthma and mental health problems. In 1988, Dr. Boxer moved his young family to Manhattan, Kansas. He worked two years in community mental health. He then worked eight years in private practice. In 1998, Dr. Boxer joined the faculty at Washington University School of Medicine where he assumed the position of Director of the Outpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic. Dr. Boxer is currently an Associate Professor of Psychiatry. He continues to be director of the outpatient clinic. He has also been director of the Consultation Liaison Service at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Dr. Boxer's interest is clinical care. He is active in teaching residents and fellows. He teaches a weekly seminar in child and family psychotherapy.
