| Daniel Mamah, M.D., MPE
Dr. Daniel Mamah is a clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry, where he completed his psychiatry residency training. He obtained his medical degree from the Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest , Hungary , after completing high school education in Port Harcourt , Nigeria .
Dr. Mamah currently conducts research at the Conte Center for the Neuroscience of Mental Disorders in the Department of Psychiatry, using structural neuroimaging techniques to study changes in the brains of patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders and bipolar disorder. His current projects include High Dimensional mapping of subcortical and cortical brain structures, and Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) of white matter tracts in psychiatric patients and their unaffected siblings. He is also an investigator in antipsychotic medication trials in patients with schizophrenia.
Dr. Mamah currently is the President of the Eastern Missouri Psychiatric Society, the largest psychiatric professional organization in the state, and has previously served on the Board of Trustees of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Dr. Mamah is currently on APA's 27 member DSM-V Task Force, which oversees the development of the Fifth Edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) scheduled to be released in 2012.
