Yumi Padron-Turmelle, M.D.
Dr. Turmelle is an Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics. She obtained her B.A. degree in Biology from the University of Miami and her M.D. degree from the University Of Florida College Of Medicine. She next completed her Pediatric residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami. She subsequently completed a Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Fellowship and an additional year of training in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology at Washington University School of Medicine. She currently is the Medical Director of the Pediatric Liver Transplant program at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Dr. Turmelle's special research interest includes the study of pediatric cholestatic liver diseases and is currently pursuing a Master's of Science in Public Health at Saint Louis University School of Public Health. She holds membership in a number of professional societies and organizations including, American Academy of Pediatrics, North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, American Gastroenterology Association, American Society of Transplantation, and International Pediatric Transplant Association.
