Victor Davila-Roman, M.D.
Dr.
Victor Davila-Roman is Associate Professor in the Departments of
Anesthesiology, Medicine and Radiology. He obtained his B.S. degree
in biology, Magna Cum Laude, and his M.D. degree both from the University
of Puerto Rico. Next he did a residency in medicine at the Brooke
Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas and then came to the Jewish
Hospital here in St. Louis in medicine. He then served a fellowship
in Adult Cardiovascular Diseases and a residency in Nuclear Cardiology
at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology.
Dr. Davila is currently Medical Director of the Cardiovascular
Imaging and Clinical Research Core Laboratory and Medical Director
of the Cardiac Diagnostic Laboratory. He has editorial responsibilities
on several publications including Coronary Artery Disease, Journal
of the American College of Cardiology, Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular
Surgery, Annals of Thoracic Surgery and the American Journal of
Cardiology. His membership in professional societies include the
American College of Cardiology, American Medical Association, American
Heart Association, American Society of Echocardiography, International
Cardiac Doppler Society, The Society of Nuclear Medicine, American
Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American Society of Hypertension.
He was a founding member of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic
Resonance. The author of more than 142 manuscripts, scientific publications
and abstracts, his research interests include aging and myocardial
efficiency in humans and decreased myocardial fatty acid utilization
in the elderly.
