Joel Goebel , M.D.

Dr. Goebel is Professor and Vice Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM). He is also Residency Program Director as well as the Director of both the Vestibular and Oculomotor Laboratory and the Dizziness and Balance Center.

Born in South Bend , Indiana , he earned his B.S. from The University of Notre Dame and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Washington University School of Medicine. He completed both his General Surgery and Otolaryngology residencies at WUSM as well. He has held many university and hospital appointments and has received several honors and awards including Notre Dame Scholar, Alpha Epsilon Delta, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Honor Award, and The Best Doctors in America. He is a member of numerous professional societies and organizations such as the Society of University Otolaryngologists, American Otologic Society, American Medical Association and American College of Surgeons to name a few. Dr. Goebel is the author of over 90 abstracts, manuscripts, and publications.
