Anjum Hassan, M.D. is a graduate of The Aga Khan University School of Medicine, Karachi, Pakistan. She graduated with honors in Basic Medical sciences and Islamic studies. She is a recipient of several merit scholarships and a Gold medal for highest honors in high school certificate examination. She underwent her post graduate training in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology in United States of America. Finally she moved to St Louis where she completed fellowships in General Surgical Pathology and Hematopathology at the Barnes Jewish Hospital- Washington University Medical Center. She is board certified in Anatomic pathology, Clinical pathology and Hematopathology. Currently she is Assistant Professor in the division of pathology and Immunology at the Washington University School of Medicine and Assistant Director, Florescent-in-situ-hybridization laboratory in Anatomic pathology. Her responsibilities include mentoring medical students and post graduate trainees in pathology and clinical diagnoses of bone marrow, blood and lymph node pathologies. Dr Hassan is a member of United States and Canadian academy of Pathology (USCAP), American Society of Hematology (ASH), College of American Pathologists (CAP), has authored several chapters and manuscripts and serves on the editorial review board of Journals. Her translational research focuses on multiple myeloma, small lymphocytic lymphoma and other low grade lymphomas.
