Majesh Makan, M.D.
Dr. Makan is Assistant Professor of Medicine and Associate Attending Physician and Echocardiographer in the Cardiovascular Division at Washington University School of Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Panama Faculty of Medicine. After completing internship and residencies in medicine, he went to St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center-Columbia P & S in New York City as a fellow in clinical cardiology. Thereafter, he served on the faculty of New York Methodist Hospital for 5 ½ years and then joined the Washington University faculty in 2002.
A gifted teacher, Dr. Makan has received several honors and awards including Teacher of the Year award for three years and award for Outstanding Contribution to Medical Education. He has membership in the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and American Society of Echocardiography. Dr. Makan has authored numerous publications. His current area of research is noninvasive cardiac imaging.
