Julie Margenthaler, M.D.
Dr. Margenthaler is Assistant Professor of Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. She obtained her B. A. degree from Boston University and Doctor of Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Following training in General Surgery at St. Louis University Hospital , she completed fellowships in Surgical Diseases of the Breast and Postdoctoral Research at Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Margenthaler is the recipient of many honors and awards including being elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, Chief Intern Teaching Award, and the James Ewing Young Investigator Award to name a few. She is an active member in a number of professional societies such as the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons Oncology Group, Association of Women Surgeons, American Society of Clinical Oncology and others. She has authored numerous chapters and manuscripts. Dr. Margenthaler's clinical interests include breast cancer in women less than 40 years old, breast reconstruction liaison, and sentinel lymph node biopsy.
