Michael L. McDaniel, Ph.D.
Dr. McDaniel is Professor of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine. A native of Waverly, Illinois , he obtained a Master's of Science degree from the University of North Dakota . Subsequently, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from St. Louis University Medical School and then served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology at Washington University . Dr. McDaniel is a member of several professional societies including the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, American Diabetes Association, and the American Association for Advancement of Sciences and Endocrinology Society. He has served as an Associate Editor of the Journals, Diabetes and the American Journal of Physiology-Endocrinology and Metabolism . Dr. McDaniel has many research interests and is the author of more than 200 publications. His research interests focus on the biochemical pathogenesis of diabetes and its treatment.
