Dr. Steven Plax

Dr. Steven Plax is Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University and Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri Medical School in Columbia, Missouri. After postgraduate training at St. Louis Children's Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, he practiced pediatrics for 36 years. He is a member of several professional societies including the St. Louis City Medical Society, St. Louis Pediatric Society, Missouri State Medical Society, and American Academy of Pediatrics. His awards and honors include the AOA Medical Honor Society, Best Doctors in America, and Best Pediatricians in St. Louis. Dr. Plax has held appointments at several St. Louis area hospitals and served on the advisory boards of the Judevine Center and Kidney Foundation. He has served as President of the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Medical Staff as well as on the board of directors at both the Jewish Family & Children’s Service and the Psychoanalytic Foundation.
