Juanita Polito-Colvin, M.D.

Dr. Polito is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine. A native of Texas, she attended medical school at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She transplanted to St. Louis to do her pediatric training at St. Louis Children's Hospital. She served as Chief Resident at St. Louis Children's Hospital, 1981-1982. After a clinical fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition and the birth of her first child, she began her career in the private practice of Pediatrics in Chesterfield, Missouri.

She has served a Chief of Pediatrics for St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield. She is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Missouri Medical Society, and the St. Louis Pediatric Society, where she has served on the board.

She is active in pediatric training and has sponsored multiple COPE residents and has served on the COPE advisory committee. She teaches first and third year medical student from Washington University through the Introduction to Clinical Practice and Pediatric rotations. She has served on several St. Louis Children's Hospital Committees, including the Critical Car Committee and the Credentials Committee.

She has been named a “Top Doctor in America” since 1998.
